Jim Acosta went after Trump during today’s press conference. He interrupted Trump repeatedly and asked off-topic questions in another attention-grabbing stunt.
Trump wasn’t having any of it. He took Jim Acosta apart with a serious of biting retorts. These are from the Twitter feeds of reporters who were in the room:
“I think you should let me run the country and let you run CNN,” Trump says of Jim Acosta. “CNN should be ashamed for himself having you work for them. You are a rude terrible person.”
@POTUS says to @Acosta three times and calls him “a really terrible person” and has the microphone taken away from him, orders him to sit down and says “when you report fake news you’re an enemy of the people.”
“That’s enough, put down the mic” “CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them, you are a rude and terrible person… The way you treat Sarah Sanders is horrible. You’re so rude… (See Video Of Acosta Rejected By Secret Service Below)
Enter Trump and Sarah Sanders who just revoked Acosta’s press pass. From The Hollywood Reporter:
The White House is suspending CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta’s “hard pass” for what press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders deemed “absolutely unacceptable” conduct in a statement on Wednesday night.
“President Trump believes in a free press and expects and welcomes tough questions of him and his administration,” Sanders said in the statement. “We will, however, never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern.”
Only they would attack the president for not supporting a free press in the midst of him taking 68 questions from 35 different reporters over the course of 1.5 hours including several from the reporter in question.
The fact that CNN is proud of the way their employee behaved is not only disgusting, it‘s an example of their outrageous disregard for everyone, including young women, who work in this administration. As a result of today’s incident, the White House is suspending the hard pass of the reporter involved until further notice.”
Acosta found out the hard way: “I’ve just been denied entrance to the WH. Secret Service just informed me I cannot enter the WH grounds for my 8pm hit,” he tweeted.
“The US Secret Service just asked for my credential to enter the WH. As I told the officer, I don’t blame him. I know he’s just doing his job. (Sorry this video is not rightside up).”
